This amendment was PASSED although the CIR bill failed to survive.
In other words, if there had been a bill only to address EB GC reforms, there was a great chance YOU would be able to file for your I-485 even if your PD was not current!

1) IV has 25000+ members.
2) The EB GC reforms proposed and passed as an amendment in mid-2006 are long overdue!
3) IV has gathered a lot of admiration and attention after the flower campaign/ SJ Rally-> leading to the July VB reversal, and of course the DC rally!
Even if 2500 of them pay $50 a month, IV would have a steady flow of $125000 a month for lobbying efforts.
Just imagine what IV could accomplish in the next few months, if only people realized how important it is for them to sign up for monthly contributions!

i got an RFE from USCIS for my appln.Does that mean my appln is in the cap already?or only after the requred info is provided to them?

I am trying to make my second $100 contribution using my American Express card but am getting this message below:
"We were unable to verify this credit card through our card validation process. To proceed with checkout, please verify the information you entered is correct or try a different card."
I have tried 3 times and there's no problem with the info I am keying in. Is there a problem using American Express cards?
am2006 you are a star ! I have used the AMEX card in the past and never had any problem, are you sure about the verification number (3 digit on the back) and the zip code, they usually match those to validate..just my 0.02, I'm sure you already know all of this...

Which USCIS Center did you go to. The best thing here would be that someone else also go to the same USCIS Center and can hopefully talk to the same IO officer. If she shows the memo again then we can get more information out of it.
This is the reason I would not want to give the ASC info. People will start bombarding the office, like they misuse the POJ method calling for nothing.

meanwhile the check option usually allows flexibility and is temporarily down for some circumstances beyond immediate control. it will be back though.
Yes, I first thought to send a check and I remember As*** specifically instructed me the last time about what you have just mentioned and so I wanted to use paypal but I do not have that option under paypal (< 100). Anyway I will wait then.

US immigration policy is to get foreign people only when certain skills are not available. There are lot of laws are there to protect US jobs while hiring Foreign persons. And some more may come while increasing immigration. Some times it might not be enforced correctly. It is the mistake of US enforcement agencies and Companies but not the mistake of immigrants. Many immigrants are creating jobs here. Yes you have to complain to authorities if any one violated immigration laws. But there is no use of blaming all the immigrants. There is nothing wrong in increasing immigration with the protection of American jobs. If protection is not enough then you can ask congress to increase more protection of US jobs. But moderate increase of green card is needed. And IV goal will not increase immigration numbers and will not create unemployment in Americans because the persons will stay till getting green card. So it does not make any difference if they increase or not increase GC numbers. But it will make many persons life easier.

I believe there are more than one admin here, why dont one of you take couple of minutes atleast for the sake of putting a stop to this false accusations. Why dont you track our IP address for the past 1-2 days. You know we have been posting simultaneously, why do you please take a step to find out if these messages are coming from the same machine or even same vicinity. Please do this for our sake. Coz I dont want others to believe in this accusations.

My american employer rejected to file PERM after ads are posted. They were supposed to befiling in EB3 and they said they found candidates so they are not going to file green card...I am totally depressed..This is the true picture in almost all american companies. BEWARE of green card.

Everybody who reads this thread should either donate themselves or if they have already done so, then make sure you talk to a friend and convince him/her to donate. You are not doing any public service by donating to IV (nothing wrong with those kind of donations). Whatever you donate will actually come back to you as a benefit you really want and in a much bigger multiple.

I would have to be an absolute moron to contribute to IV, and to work for it, if at the end it costs me more in getting a green card.
So, either you think that IV-ers from ROW are morons. Or you want them to quit, and turn this organization into an Indians-only group.
Its as simple as that. You can quote all the laws in the universe, and come up with all the fancy logic that you want. But what I have said above is what it all boils down to.
I do not care whether you contribute to IV or not. What I am writing here is law or facts and how it is affecting oversubscribed countries becuse of wrong interpretation of law. I am not here to unite or divide any group. In my level, I am contributing to end retrogression by sending mails to law makers. Even any law passes to remove retro, this misinterpretation of law is screwing Indians and Chinese. A EB2 person from Iran/Iraq/Pakistan with PD 2007 can get GC with in 6 months (right from PERM labor to 485 approval) why should Indian with PD in 2003 has to wait for ever?

They do not care, if I am male or female or Indian or Chinese or Iranian or Iraqi or Pakistani or European. I am penalized for just I am Indian not able to adjust LPR even I have priority date in 2003 after a long wait for Labor certification and 140 approvals. However, if I am from other than India and China I would have got GC with in six months even if my PD in late 2006. If a person with a Priority Date 2007 can become LPR immediately in EB2 category even if he is from a state sponsoring terrorism (provided if his background check is cleared). However a person from India having priority date in 2003 can not become LPR and sitting in dark to hope to see the light at the end of tunnel. How fare it is? Is it not the discrimination by country of birth?
